Mr. Natsis explains a math problem to students.
Mr.Natsis is the high school geometry and pre-calculus teacher at El Paso Gridley High School. It is his 4th year teaching. Something that you may not know is that before he was a teacher, he was a tutor and a gymnastics coach. He became a teacher because he liked math when he was a student in high school. He felt that he would be a good teacher for math since he really enjoyed helping his friends with it. He graduated from Lake Zurich High School, and then he earned his bachelor’s degree in math education at Illinois State University.
In his free time, Mr. Natsis likes to work out and hang out with friends and family. He is also looking for other hobbies. Mr.Natsis’s favorite part of school when he was a student was seeing his friends. “You get the opportunity to see your friends every day, which is harder to do once you become older.” His biggest pet peeve as a teacher is when students refuse to get the help they need. His most embarrassing moment was when he wore a birthday sash for an entire school day during his first year of teaching. Mr. Natsis’s favorite part of geometry is that it’s challenging, and you can only have one right answer. He believes that building strong relationships with his students makes his classroom easier to manage and motivates students to care about what they’re doing.
