For our Senior Profile this issue, we are focusing on a Senior who moved here her Junior year from Bloomington High School, Lilly Heilman. Because we typically focus on Seniors who have been here all four years, we’re highlighting a student who hasn’t. Since moving to EPG, she said she has enjoyed “Making connections with people whom I can see myself being friends with for a really long time.”
She would say the thing people may misunderstand about her is “I think people believe that I’m quiet/shy, which isn’t true when you actually know me.” Try starting up a conversation with her to see that side of her; she is quite funny when you do get to know her. Lilly works as a waitress at Woody’s, so stop in to see her and make sure to leave a tip.
She enjoys spending time with friends and family. She has three brothers who attend school in Pekin: Zach (16), Carter (11), and Tyler (10).
When I asked what her favorite show was, she responded, “I love any type of crime show like Law and Order or Criminal Minds.” She explained that she likes to watch crime shows because “I grew up watching them with my dad, and it reminds me of spending time with him when I was little.” Her favorite comfort food is vodka pasta. Lilly is also a night owl, preferring to stay up late rather than get up early.
This year, she is looking forward to graduating. When asked about her plans, she said, “I’m going to college, but I’m still undecided on where and what I want to do.” Her advice to freshmen is “Be kind to yourself and try to have as much fun as you can during these four years because they go really fast.”
