Zac Feese, a senior at El Paso Gridley, is a four-year member of the football team and a one-year member of the baseball team.
Playing those two sports has helped him in many ways, like building discipline, work ethic, and teamwork. One of the teachers who has had the biggest impact on his life is also the football coach, Mr. Benedict. Zac claimed, “Coach Benedict has made the biggest impact on my life, because he truly pushes me to try my best.”
His favorite high school memories are Friday night lights with his friends. Some of the events that Zac looks forward to during the school year are athletic PE, as well as Titan Buddies every Friday. When asked what things have helped him get through high school, his response was friends. “My friends are probably the only reason that I made it through high school. Without them, I don’t know if I could show up every day.” If Zac could redo one year of high school, he would choose his sophomore year because he didn’t take it seriously.
Outside of sports and school, Zac enjoys golf. Though he claims he’s not the best at it, he’s been playing for about two years. His plan after graduating high school is to attend a four-year university to study business to help him ease into his career choice. In ten years, Zac believes that he will have graduated from college and moved on to a full-time job.
Zac is in his final year of high school and has been a great kid throughout. When asked if he had any advice for the underclassman, his response was, “Never wait till the last minute to start an assignment. Also, do what feels right for you, not what just looks good.” His words serve as a great reminder that success in high school isn’t just about being liked or being like everyone else. It’s about following your own path and learning what truly matters along the way.
