Don’t be choco-LATE and be sure to get your golden ticket to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week. September 13th at 7:00 pm will mark the start of opening night for the EPGHS 2025 Fall Musical. Your only other chance to watch this fantastic show will be Sept. 14th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.
If you haven’t seen this childhood classic, here’s a preview. Charlie Bucket (played by Cooper Romersberger) lives in a shack with his mom, dad, and two sets of grandparents. They are extremely poor, and a typical meal at their house is cabbage soup. Willy Wonka (Brady Hill) owns the most scrumptious factory in town. What sets it apart from others is that it’s all candy. He hides five golden tickets in candy bars, and if you are one of the lucky five to receive one, you get a tour of the factory. The fortunate winners are a nutty, spoiled brat, Veruca Salt (Ava Brucker), a gum-obsessed, competitive Southern belle, Violet Beauregarde (Elise Brucker), an obese, gluttonous German boy, Augustus Gloop (Gage Cobbley), and an annoying, video-game addicted, screenager, Mike TeaVee (Braxton Romersberger). Charlie miraculously gets the last golden ticket, changing his family’s lives.
The cast has many “deserving actors in deserving roles,” the director, Mr. Shaffer, stated. The rest of the musical is full of “twix” and turns. Make sure you come support our musical cast next week. We can guarantee you will have a choco-LOT of fun if you join us on one of these nights.
